Rooftop tents have grown increasingly popular among the common camper, specifically clamshell-styled options. But they aren’t without their problems, so tech-savvy startup Intrepid Camping Gear is looking to set a new standard with its innovative Geo 2.5 Rooftop Tent.
The up-and-coming manufacturer is composed of a band of outdoor-loving engineers familiar with how cramped some rooftop tents can be. As a result, the brand’s new tent maximizes areas where most other options are lacking, with the primary addition being much more space. For reference, the Geo 2.5 Rooftop Tent’s interior measures 87” x 52”, granting more than enough space for most people, as well extra room for gear thanks to its array of storage pockets. This is courtesy of Intrepid’s patent-pending hinged roof design, which makes 36% more room than the average clamshell without diminishing the tent’s stability.
Thanks to its honeycomb aluminum base, high-tenacity ripstop fabric, and waterproof hinge system, the sturdy Geo 2.5 checks all the boxes and then some. In addition to being spacious and secure, the Geo 2.5 is also simple to put together or store away. Intrepid embedded strategically-placed battens to make the set-up process a total breeze. Plus, to reduce condensation and avoid water splashing on you mid-sleep, there is an air mesh layer built into its 40mm mattress that doubles as a ventilator, paving the way for insulated and much better sleep. Lastly, the tent features a detachable ladder that you can place on either the side or rear of your vehicle.
