After years of research and development, British marque INEOS Automotive finally put its Grenadier 4×4 model into production in late 2022. And alongside now finally starting to see them out on the road — at least here in Los Angeles — we’re also now getting our first glimpse of the first-ever fully-armored INEOS Grenadier courtesy of Toronto-based vehicle fortification specialist INKAS Armored Vehicles.
A Heavily-Fortified 4×4
The INKAS INEOS Grenadier 4×4 doesn’t look very different from the normal, non-armored version, though it conceals a host of noteworthy features that transform it into something of a rolling safe room. Riding on 18” steel wheels shod in INKAS’ own proprietary Run Flat tires, this British-built, Canadian-modified rig benefits from multi-layer ballistic glass, an advanced 360° perimeter protection setup, battery and ECM armoring, fuel tank protection, an overlap door system with reinforced hinges and travel retainers.
It doesn’t end there, as INKAS has also bestowed INEOS’ inaugural model with an advanced anti-theft alarm and immobilizer, a front and rear park assist system, a rear-view camera, and power heated exterior mirrors. Also of note is the fact that the driver’s window is operable, plus INKAS has an available upgrade that can make additional windows operable. All told, these modifications and upgrades collectively allow the Grenadier to achieve an impressive BR6 armor rating — giving it the ability to withstand everything from hand grenades to 7.62mm rounds.
Further Armoring Options
Though INKAS’ armored Grenadier manages to achieve an impressive armor level rating, the Canadian company is giving customers numerous optional upgrades to further fortify the 4×4. This includes but is not limited to engine bay armoring, an engine fire suppression system, available exhaust and radiator protection units, a roof escape hatch, reinforced bumpers, an oxygen filtration system, LED strobe lights, a siren and PA system, an onboard night vision camera, and INKAS’ CCTV system complete with 360° cameras. INKAS even offers a stealthy full black-out visual package for the armored INEOS.
Still Off-Road-Ready
Though it’s been heavily fortified, INKAS’ armored Grenadier maintains the regular 4×4’s impressive stock go-anywhere capabilities and off-road-focused hardware. The armored model retains the stocker’s full box-sectioned ladder frame, skid plates, LED auxiliary lights, Carraro beam axles, heavy-duty coil suspension, roof rails, roof protection strips, towing eyes, a full-size spare wheel, and permanent four-wheel drive. And, while INKAS hasn’t cited off-roading performance figures, but we imagine the armored model features abilities similar to the non-armored 4×4, which boasts 10” of ground clean race and approach, break-over, and departure angles of 35.5°, 28.2°, and 36.1°, respectively.

The INKAS Armored INEOS Grenadier is available for order now, and while the Canadian retrofitter hasn’t revealed exact pricing for its latest fortified 4×4, its prices typically range from around $30,000 to $90,000 — plus the cost of the donor vehicle, which, in this case, starts at around $73,000.
