The HiPhi Z Electric Sedan Looks Straight Out of a Sci-Fi Movie

The future is here. Last year, Chinese electric vehicle startup Human Horizons announced a concept sedan model called the HiPhi Z, which looked as intriguing as it sounded. However, we weren’t sure if or when the company would ever unveil a production version. But after watching it roll out the HiPhi X crossover back in 2021, enthusiasts wait with bated breath for what should be an even bigger release for one of the newest and most promising players in the burgeoning EV market.

Human Horizons has finally unveiled the production version of the HiPhi Z, a sedan that looks as futuristic on the outside as it does on the inside. Sporting the first-ever wrap-around Star-Ring industrial smart display (ISD) on a passenger vehicle, the EV allows for the passengers and driver to interact with the 4,066 individual LEDs. The doors are also equipped with the interactive ISD, along with the ultra-wideband wireless communication technology which can detect people, vehicles, and keys. Additionally, the car is capable of assisted parking and driving. To improve overall performance, the active air grille shutters optimize vehicle drag and lift by connecting with the spoiler and wing on the rear.

The car’s interior features an AI companion that utilizes a 23-speaker Meridian sound system, panel lights, and bucket seats to maximize your experience of either driving or riding along, tapping into four of the five senses (including smell, but thankfully omitting taste) to create a comforting atmosphere. Most interestingly, a high-speed 8-way robotic arm can perform quiet functions in the car as well, a first for a production vehicle. Powered by a 120kWh battery pack with a range of over 438 miles, the HiPhi Z can go from 0 to 60 in just 3.8 seconds.

As of right now, the HiPhi Z is only available for sale in China, with debuts in 11 cities in total that will be announced this August. The car is selling for between $89,000 and $129,000.

Purchase: $89,000+
