There’s commissioning a one-off, and then there’s having the Giugiaro family on speed dial. Mexican collector Carlos Peralta falls firmly into the second camp, having already tapped GFG Style (the Turin studio run by legendary designer Giorgetto Giugiaro and his son Fabrizio) for last year’s mirror-polished Peralta S. Apparently one bespoke wedge just wasn’t enough, because the duo just rolled out a follow-up at Mexico’s Pastejé Automotive Invitational. Meet the copper-bodied GFG Style Peralta D.

Hammered, Not Stamped
Every lower body panel on the Peralta D was beaten into shape by hand from pure copper. And above the beltline, the greenhouse is mirrored glass that’s been tinted to match.

All of the the panels have been mounted to a carbon fiber structure that sits over an aluminum chassis. Even the remaining carbon pieces, like the front spoiler and exhaust tips, are deliberately tucked out of sight so nothing here interrupts the metal.

Like Father, Like Gullwing
Look closely and you’ll notice there are no door handles, and that’s because there are no doors. Instead, the entire windshield, roof, and side glass assembly tilts forward in one dramatic motion (a party trick that’s been carried over from the Peralta S).

For the back seats, Fabrizio added a pair of pillarless gullwing hatches along the car’s spine. His father also penned the same solution for the De Tomaso Mangusta’s engine covers back in 1967.

Dedicated to the Donne
The “D” honors Peralta’s daughters (the S was for his sons), and the cabin dives deep into that design brief. The passenger side of the symmetrical dash houses a full makeup station with cosmetic storage and a monitor that doubles as an illuminated mirror. There’s also a retractable fridge in the rear console that chills champagne sitting next to four copper drinking glasses. Even the stitching in the metallic leather uses real copper thread.

As for what’s underneath, GFG Style isn’t saying (yet, at least). The donor Maserati GranTurismo packs a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 making up to 543 horsepower, and the quad tailpipes confirm Peralta skipped the electric Folgore.
