While a boat constructed of nothing but aluminum may seem a bit unconventional, seagoing speedsters are well aware that it’s the main route to take when looking to up the performance. As a result, Heesen Yachts’ newly-unveiled Galactica is a 262-foot superyacht looking to serve as a sea vessel that is as swift as it is sleek.
With a top speed of 29 knots, the Dutch manufacturers herald its latest behemoth as the fastest aluminum motoryacht of its kind. Working in collaboration with Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design and Winch Design, a pair of firms whose portfolio of yachts is equally impressive, the final product of this partnership is a luxurious watercraft equipped with just about everything under the sun. Starting with the streamlined exterior, courtesy of Winch, Galactica features a helipad that transforms into a seat-equipped cinema and a nearly 23-foot-long pool with built-in contra-jets and a glass bottom, the latter of which rests above a lavish beach club with a large bar.
Sinot implemented the immaculate interior with a design language inspired by elements ranging from nature to the Fibonacci sequence. A pair of materials that highlight the inside is gorgeous crystal glass panels and intricate straw marquetry, which come together to accentuate the kitted-out amenities that encompass them. These include a spiral staircase, a glass elevator, and a cozy main deck lounge rounded out with a fireplace and bespoke-sized glass cubes to fit various bottles. Lastly, the Galactica is set to take on a dozen guests thanks to a quartet of double suites, as well as a VIP suite and owner’s stateroom.
Serving as the third rendition in Heesen’s line of Gladiator yachts, it comes as no surprise that Galactica may be the most impressive yet. For those interested in just how much this latest vessel has in store, take a look at Heesen Yachts’ site.
