In addition to winning back-to-back-to-back championship titles in ’83, ’84, and ’85, Andy Rouse – of Andy Rouse Engineering fame — also played a pivotal role in the development of turning Ford’s Sierra Cosworth into a successful Touring car racer. And though Rouse retired from motorsport in ’95, the four-time BTCC championship winner and ex-Le Mans competitor has now joined forces with CNC Motorsport AWS to deliver an ultra-limited-edition run of Ford Sierra RS500 continuation cars.
These Group A continuation cars are built around a period-correct ‘909’ Ford Sierra Motorsport body. At the heart of each continuation RS will be a 575-hp Cosworth YB motor built by Andy Rouse Engineering’s engine builder, who has previously built out more than 100 RS500 mills. The Drake-tuned turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four will also receive a Getrag five-speed gearbox and a Proflex Advanced Technology fuel system. The touring cars are also officially sanctioned by Andy Rouse himself, and will both sport an Andy Rouse Engineering build plate and will be eligible for select historic race events.
In total, CNC Motorsport AWS plans on building only three units of the RS500 continuation car. Each specimen will start at around $255,000, and go up from there depending on options and liveries. Spares packages will also be available for the three examples.
