They say no news is good news. Well, for Aston Martin, somewhere between the two is best.
The British marque has recently teased the finale to its flagship DBS model line (née DBS Superleggera), which debuted back in 2018 and uses a 5.2L AM31 twin-turbocharged V12 engine with 8-speed transmission. Teased in a quick 1-minute video, the new special edition is called the DBS 770 Ultimate and will be limited to just 499 examples.
Aston Martin has barely released any information (or images) on the upcoming DBS, but the name implies it has 770 PS, which equals nearly 760hp. The most telling statement by the company is that the car will be “re-engineered,” featuring “sharper dynamic focus coupled with exquisite design.” Just based on the limited assets available, we can already tell the new vehicle will be a sight to behold.
While the DBS nameplate has been used in some form as early as the ‘60s and resurrected in earnest from 2007 to 2012, this current iteration of the grand tourer is being retired following the 770 Ultimate. Obviously, no price has been stated as of yet, but Aston Martin promises a full reveal of the DBS 770 Ultimate sometime in early 2023.
