Every few years, someone declares the station wagon dead in America, and while we personally disagree every time, Audi continues to advocate for us wagon lovers. The newest rebuttal is the redesigned A6 Allroad, which Audi just pulled the sheet off for Europe while confirming, in the same breath, that it’s also crossing the Atlantic in 2027.
And for the first time in the model’s history, Audi handed the Allroad a proper wide body, and the result is the meanest-looking version the nameplate has ever worn.

Borrowing the RS6’s Shoulders
The new Allroad runs 4.3 inches wider than the Euro-market A6 Avant, making it the first lifted Audi wagon to get genuinely beefier sheetmetal instead of plastic cladding bolted onto the standard car.

Those flared fenders are reportedly the same ones destined for the upcoming RS6 Avant, with functional vertical vents tucked behind the front wheels for good measure. It’s the perfect kind of aggressive for pulling into the Costco parking lot.

Lifted, Steered, and Quattro’d
Underneath all of that, he Allroad sticks to the recipe that’s worked since 1999. This includes standard adaptive air suspension that lifts ground clearance 1.3 inches over the Avant, with a total adjustment range of 2.2 inches. There’s also dedicated off-road modes for when it’s time to hit the dirt roads.
Audi also makes all-wheel steering standard, turning the rears up to 5 degrees against the fronts at low speeds to shrink the turning circle. Quattro is, of course, along for the ride, and the wheels climb all the way to 21 inches.

The Powertrain Asterisk
In Europe, the Allroad becomes a plug-in hybrid for the first time, mating a turbocharged 2.0-liter gas four to an electric motor. The hybrid setup is good for 362 horsepower, 369 lb-ft, and a useful 59 miles of electric range. A 3.0-liter V6 TDI diesel rounds out the lineup with 295 horsepower and a stout 428 lb-ft.
Neither is likely to cross the pond. Audi hasn’t confirmed our engine, but the smart money is on the gas 3.0-liter V6 from the A6 sedan, rated at 362 horsepower and 406 lb-ft. Unfortunately, diesel and Volkswagen still aren’t on speaking terms over here.

A Dashboard Full of Glass
Inside, the Allroad lifts the A6 sedan’s screen-heavy cabin aesthetic. That means an 11.9-inch digital cluster and a 14.5-inch touchscreen under one curved pane, plus an optional 10.9-inch display for whoever’s riding shotgun.
Audi rounds it out with the expected luxury-class trimmings, including massaging seats, four-zone climate, and a dimmable panoramic roof. Just be ready to wipe down all that piano-black trim more than you’d like.
