Nissan Australia and its long-trusted engineering partner Premcar teased the Navara PRO-4X Warrior concept back in November alongside the global Navara D27 debut, and the production version is tracking to hit Australian showrooms before the end of 2026, as per Drive [H/T].
One of the benchmark factory-enhanced utes Down Under since 2019, the Warrior program finally lands on the D27 platform, which is simply a stronger foundation than the D23 it replaces. And Premcar, a Melbourne-based firm with roots deep in Ford Performance Vehicles and Australian-condition engineering, has six years of real-world Warrior data to draw from.

Built on Better Bones
One of the knocks on earlier Warriors was a tendency toward on-road floatiness when unloaded. However, the PRO-4X Warrior is starting from a higher baseline from its predecessor thanks to the D27 Navara’s bespoke suspension tune from Premcar for the broader Navara range, in both loaded and unloaded conditions. The redesigned chassis and upgraded suspension architecture of the D27 give Premcar more to work with from the ground up.

What you get on top of that is a lifted suspension system with front coil springs and signature Lava Red dampers, a wider track via 17-inch aftermarket wheels, and 32.2-inch Yokohama all-terrain tires that significantly improve ground clearance and approach angles over the stock PRO-4X setup.

War Gear
For protection up front, you get an enhanced steel bullbar with body-colored wings and black center section, extended overriders for better approach angle protection, integrated fender flare extensions, and aftermarket driving lamps with more Lava Red accents. Underneath is a multi-stage bash plate system to shield your driveline components.

At the rear, two Lava Red recovery points join a 7,716lbs-rated towbar. Rounding out the aesthetics are Warrior-branded headrests, a black sport bar with PRO-4X sail plane, tub liner, tailgate assist, and the expected Warrior decals and tailgate emblem.

Under the hood, nothing changes from the stock PRO-4X. It runs on the Mitsubishi-sourced 2.4-liter biturbo diesel making 201hp and 347lb.ft of torque, paired to a six-speed automatic with Super 4WD and a lockable center differential. This thing is built for off-road trail capability but you could also realistically commute in it without issue.
The one thing still conspicuously absent is a power upgrade. The segment is heating up, and rivals like the Ford Ranger Tremor and Isuzu D-Max Blade are pushing hard. A bump in output on a future iteration wouldn’t hurt the Warrior’s case.
