The elaborate V-12 and V-10 engines that power Lamborghini’s vehicles have also played a major role in distinguishing them from other “ordinary” sports cars and supercars. So, when the Raging Bull announced that its next flagship model would feature a more common V8, eyebrows were raised. With the supercar — dubbed the “Temerario” — now having been revealed, however, it’s clear that, while it may feature a V8, the thing is pure Lamborghini through and through, with sleek and aggressive styling and what can only be described as a world-class performance capabilities.
The Basics
Successor to the Huracán, the Lamborghini Temerario — a name that translates from Italian to “Reckless” or “Daredevil” — represents the Raging Bull’s latest supercars and quite possibly its most technologically advanced to date as well. Though it uses a novel powertrain and an all-new bodywork design, the thing is still pure Lamborghini. Benefitting from the use of Lamborghini’s latest and most advanced Integrated Vehicle Dynamics system, the Temerario is constructed around a full aluminum spaceframe draped in all-aluminum bodywork.
A Hybrid Beating Heart
Rather than using 10 or 12 cylinders to make its monstrous amounts of horsepower and torque, the Temerario instead utilizes a completely new V8 engine design. Boasting a 4.0-liter displacement, the eight-banger features a twin-turbocharger setup that allows to make 788hp.
Bolted to an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, the twin-turbo V8 has also been paired with a trio of electric motors (including a 220-kW front motor) that allow the entire powertrain to generate a collective 907hp and 538.4ft-lbs. The three motors also draw from an onboard Lithium-ion battery pack. It’s also Lamborghini’s first-ever production supercar engine to reach 10,000 rpm.
Performance Capabilities
Thanks to a fairly low (dry) weight of only 3,725lbs, the Temerario’s collective 907 horses and nearly 540ft-lbs allow for some pretty impressive straight-line speed and acceleration. Off-the-line, the hybrid supercar is capable of reaching 60mph from a complete standstill in just under 2.7 seconds — placing it squarely into supercar territory. Its twin-turbo hybrid V8 also affords an equally impressive top speed of 213mph.

The 2025 Lamborghini Temerario is expected to go on sale in Q4 of 2024 or Q1 or 2025. Though pricing has yet to be revealed, we anticipate a starting MSRP of around $275,000 to $325,000.
