Returning to the Ducati lineup in 2018 with a stripped-down version of the Panigale, the Italian firm’s current Streetfighter V4 is arguably the finest naked superbike in the world. Now with a new model for 2025, Ducati brags that this will be the highest-performing Fight Formula it’s ever made. Let’s take a look…
It Starts with the Engine
Available in both V4 and V4S configurations, the 2025 Ducati Streetfighter features MotoGP-inspired tech with a mounted Desmosedici Stradale engine for the first time ever. Putting out 205hp (226hp max with the optional Akrapovič racing exhaust) and 88.3lb.ft of max torque, the lighter engine is said to be even more effective on the track thanks to a 0.49 power-to-weight ratio and a total weight of 419lbs.
Boasting the same architecture as past Ducati MotoGP bikes, the engine is a 90º V4 with desmodromic distribution, a counter-rotating crankshaft, and Twin Pulse timing that can mimic the sound of the Desmosedici GP.
Blending Fun with Performance
Derived from the 2025 Panigale V4, there are other elements to help with its optimized weight ratio, such as improvements to the chassis like the DVO, the electronically-controlled Öhlins Smart EC3.0 suspension, and the Race eCBS braking system with Brembo Hypure front calipers.
The new upgrades also yield a more rigorous chassis and wider calibration range for an easier ride, as well as more contained exhaust noise. According to Ducati, “It can be fun on the road with superior comfort in everyday riding.”
Designed for Aerodynamics
Optimizing for ergonomics and aerodynamics, Ducati doesn’t do anything terribly rash with the design of the Streetfighter V4. In fact, it looks very similar to previous Panigale models. However, as the brand states, “With more balanced proportions and distribution of volumes between the front and rear, the Streetfighter V4 has lines aimed at the front that make the bike look ready to launch toward the next bend.”
Paired with a new full-LED headlight to enhance the superbike’s aggressive face, the light signature is still intact. Meanwhile, a full LED light cluster at the rear with a signature double-C of the sportiest versions of the bike. Other updates include a narrow 4.2-gallon take, a shorter license plate holder, and a lower passenger seat placement.
According to Ducati, this iteration of the bike has more effective aerodynamics with +99lbs of downforce at 167mph thanks to the way the hallmark forward-slanting biplane wings are integrated into the design line, as well as the new double-sided Hollow Symmetrical Swingarm at the bottom.
