Debuting for the 2003 model year, the Bentley Continental GT was born out of the Rolls-Royce Concept Java from the ‘90s which never made it to production. Aimed to be a more mass-produced, affordable Bentley than the brand’s Continental R or T models, the GT has endured for over two decades, now embarking on its fourth generation. Let’s take a look at the 2025 Continental GT.

What’s New?

Debuting in the brand’s Speed trim, the Continental is available in the GT coupe and GTC convertible options. However, the biggest story here is the engine, which swaps a plug-in hybrid V8 for the previous W12. Under the hood, the “Ultra Performance Hybrid” powertrain pairs the twin-turbo 4.0L V8 with 591hp with a single electric motor. Together, they combine for 771hp and 738lb.ft of torque, both of which are greater than the outgoing engine (up from 659hp and 664lb.ft) and the most powerful vehicle in Bentley’s history.

Likewise, the car has a top speed of 208mph and can go 0 to 60 in just 3.1 seconds. It even unofficially set an underwater speed record, tested through Norway’s Ryfylke Tunnel. The vehicle also benefits from the new 400-volt electrical architecture, which gets you 50 miles of purely electric range with a total of 534 miles of range.

Other upgrades include a new headlight setup includes a pair of single-unit matrix LED lights (replacing the quad headlights from before), elongated taillights, smaller grill and bumper intakes, and a “new design DNA” that recalls the coachbuilt Bentley Bacalar and Batur models.

How About the Inside?

Visually redolent of the previous generation Continental GT, the interior still gets some updates here. There’s new wellness seat technology for the four-seat interior, which provides new air ionization and 20-way adjustability. You also get new three-dimensional leather texturing with modern quilting and a new dark chrome finish.

The infotainment system has also been updated with the My Bentley App Studio for seamless app integration and wireless connectivity, displaying onto a 12.3-inch rotating screen. Coming from the Bentley Dream Factory in Crewe, the configurations are “virtually limitless,” especially with the personalization options offered by the Mulliner department.
