The successor to the Gallardo, the Lamborghini Huracán has been in production since 2014, however, after eight years of being built, the Italian firm is preparing to phase out the supercar. Just prior to this happening, however, Lamborghini is giving the Huracán one final farewell in the form of a rally-spec off-roader based on the Huracán platform.
Fittingly dubbed the Huracán Sterrato — with Sterrato being Italian for “dirt” — this ruggedized take on the supercar first broke cover as a concept in 2019, though Lamborghini has now unveiled a more robust teaser of the model that includes footage of the car being used off-road. Riding on seven-arm split-spoke wheels, the Huracán Sterrato boasts a number of tweaks and upgrades over the regular Huracán, such as new roof rails, embedded LED light bars, new side skirts, and massively flared fenders that open up space for the car’s off-road wheels and increased suspension travel.
We also anticipate the Huracán Sterrato to feature a strengthened and reinforced chassis and a markedly taller ride height. Lamborghini hasn’t spoken on powertrain specifics, though we assume the rally-grade Huracán to pack a 5.2-liter V10 that sends between 602hp and 630hp to all four wheels.
While Lamborghini has yet to reveal pricing, specs, or production numbers, we anticipate the Huracán Sterrato to be a limited-edition model. More info is expected to be released on the “Beyond The Concrete” project over the next year.
