Toyota Elevates the Tundra Pickup with the Luxurious Capstone Trim

Toyota’s very first Tundra pickup truck hit the market near the last century’s tail end, coming to life in the summer of 1999. What debuted as a rugged pickup has consistently honed that integrity over the years — and now, the Tundra is getting classed up a bit. Looking to keep things as prim and proper as ever, Toyota has given their flagship truck a high-end makeover. In presumable efforts to combat the likes of similarly affluent pickups of its class, Toyota’s newly-unveiled Tundra Capstone grade exudes luxury in every sense.

Sitting on a quartet of 22-inch dark chrome alloy wheels, this particular set of rims is not only the tallest in the marque’s latest array of Tundra models for the new year, but they’re also the largest ever implemented on the model. Measuring in at 4 inches larger than the standard edition wheels, they certainly make for a striking stance. Chrome seems to be a common theme on this Tundra, as the Capstone’s nameplates and accents boast a similar shine to the big flashy rims. As impressive as its bolstered exterior is, however, the interior of the top-level Tundra is even more so. It’s been fully kitted with a 12.3-inch Multi-Informational display, as well as an even larger 14-inch multimedia display, the latter of which offers seamless Bluetooth connectivity and Intelligent Assistant. Rounding out its large tablet-like screens are luxury-grade semi-aniline leather-trimmed seats and a dark American Walnut finish on the center console. The Capstone will be available in a sextet of colors finished off with matching trim and a single body configuration that boasts a standard 5.5-foot bed. Performance-wise, the flagship pickup offers a hefty 437hp and 583 lb-ft of torque from its twin-turbo V6 engine.

As of now, the Japanese manufacturer has yet to formally unveil pricing information in regards to their latest hunk of luxury. Be that as it may, feel free to take a more extensive look at the 2022 Tundra Capstone on Toyota’s website.
