There’s nothing quite like a BRABUS build. The German tuner has developed a slew of overbuilt luxury vehicle mods that have been capturing the imaginations and bank accounts of well-heeled enthusiasts around the world for over 40 years. While one of the many hallmarks of its builds is unabashed luxury (which is always tasteful), BRABUS is also known for making rugged and aggressive builds. While it has a stout lineup of tough-looking luxury vehicles, all pale in comparison to BRABUS’ newest model: the 800 Adventure XLP Superblack.
Of all the brand’s cars that you could take off-road without feeling like you’re committing an act of automotive heresy, the 800 Adventure XLP Superblack is the best suited for the task. BRABUS’ designers based this pickup on the already-impressive Mercedes-AMG G 63, meaning the 800 XLP can easily balance luxury and off-road fun with ease. Moreover, its front and rear portal axles, front heavy-duty cable winch, massive roof rack with light-adorned carbon “wind deflector,” and 22-inch Monoblock HD forged wheels give it all of the off-road capabilities to explore the roads less traveled. Those wanting to stay on regular streets can enjoy its twin-turbocharged 4.0L V8, which has a stalwart output of 800 HP, 737 lb-ft of torque, and an eye-popping 4.8-second 0-62mph time.
From a design perspective, the XLP Superblack retains all of the classic characteristics of BRABUS builds that we know and love. Its exterior sports a sleek Obsidian Black Metallic finish with carbon fiber accents throughout. In particular, its carbon tailpipe trims with integrated launch ambiance light is a particularly stylized and welcome addition.
The blacked-out treatment of the 800 Adventure continues to its ultra-luxe interior, which sports special BRABUS seashell diamond quilting, carbon fiber trim elements, and embossed “77” finished throughout, courtesy of BRABUS’ “heritage” treatment. As if that weren’t enough, there are over 206 cockpit elements that feature BRABUS’ trademark Shadow Chrome finish, for extra style points. All in all, this spectacular truck epitomizes the mind-boggling amount of detail that has led BRABUS to become one of the greatest tuners on the planet. The BRABUS 800 Adventure XLP Superblack retails for $821,790.
