This particular Ferrari Dino 246 was built in 1969 and served as a show car for the 1969 International Motor Show Germany in Frankfurt. It features a glorious Rosso Dino finish over a Crema leather interior to yield a balance of retro flair and timeless elegance. Despite its glamourous beginning as a show car, this Dino was actually a barn find and underwent extensive restoration to reach its current, pristine condition. It underwent a total assessment and strip to remove all imperfections, including a painstaking seam sealing where its panels connect to the chassis.
Its paint received a complete overhaul as well, starting over from a gray primer before being painted with a Rosso Corsa undercoat and then the Rosso Dino final coat. Though meticulous and slow-going, this multi-step process ensures the Dino’s coat looks the way it did when it debuted to the world more than 50 years ago. The folks over at Bell Classic & Sport even rebuilt and re-dyno’d the car’s V6 engine to its factory-correct 191HP specs to make it as close to its former glory as possible.
Ultimately, the time-intensive and expensive process of restoring this 1969 beauty paid off in spades. This mid-engined bombshell is road-tested, fully restored, and in immaculate condition.
