WESN Unveils Its First-Ever Fixed-Blade Knife With the Swedish-Made Bornas

Since its inception in 2016, WESN has quickly become one of the most eminent boutique knife brands on the planet, with a slowly but steadily growing range of heirloom-quality knives and EDC accessories that are genuinely built to last a lifetime. And after an extensive development period, the Detriot knifemaker has now revealed its first-ever fixed-blade model with the all-new WESN Bornas.

Spanning 5.90” in total, the Bornas is a compact and modern take on a traditional fixed-blade knife that features WESN’s signature brand of contemporary Scandanavian design, premium materials, and top-notch craftsmanship. Translating from Swedish to “of the children”, the Bornas boasts a full-tang CPM S35VN steel construction that culminates in a 2.60” drop point blade. Jimping along the base of the blade’s spine also helps to afford a solid grip even under wet conditions.

Mated to the blade via stainless steel hardware, the Bornas also comes adorned in the buyer’s choice of either black G-10 scales or genuine Rosewood handles. A lanyard loop at the base of the knife adds a dose of style while also bringing additional functionality to the table. Branding on the Bornas has also been kept to a minimum, with just a single WESN logo decorating the blade. What’s more, not only is the Bornas WESN’s first-ever fixed blade model, but the knife also represents the Detroit-based brand’s first knife that’s being made in Sweden — a nod to WESN’s founder’s Swedish ancestry.

While WESN has yet to reveal a release date or exact pricing, the company has announced that the Bornas will be launching on Kickstarter in the coming days, where it will be offered with a 40% discount over its eventual retail price.
