Believe it or not, 2022 is already half over, placing us right smack dab in the middle of June. And with just a couple of weeks left until the official start of summer, it’s time to start gearing up for some fun in the sun. When the weather heats up, there are few things more enjoyable than a relaxing hike on the beach, which is why this week’s Everyday Carry loadout is made up of gear that would come in handy on a seaside outdoor adventure. And since summertime calls for fun combinations of bright colors, we made sure this pocket dump will stand out in the sun.
Cotopaxi Kapai 3L Hip Pack – Del Dia
When spending time outdoors, we like to use brands that actually care for the planet. And few if any do so better than Cotopaxi, which focuses on sustainable manufacturing practices and donates portions of its profits to helpful nonprofits. Its Del Dia collection in particular is renowned for its use of surplus materials and mantra of employee empowerment, as it’s up to the brand’s workers to construct these one-of-a-kind bags as they see fit from the available repurposed materials. That’s how you end up with the unique color combinations that you see in this hip pack, which is made from 100% recycled nylon.
Leatherman x Topo Designs Skeletool
Another brand known for both its adventurous outdoor products and its adventurous use of color is Topo Designs, which recently collaborated with Leatherman on a limited-edition version of the latter’s handy Skeletool. The multi-tool features needle-nose pliers, regular pliers, hard-wire cutters, wire cutters, a 420HC steel partially-serrated 2.6” blade, a large bit driver, and a bottle opener, with both the stainless steel handle and 1,000-denier nylon sheath sporting Topo’s signature tri-color pattern.
Farer Cribbar AquaMatic
While it hasn’t even been around for a decade yet, British watchmaker Farer has one of the strongest identities of any microbrand thanks to its bold and creative use of color. And nowhere in its catalog is that brand ethos more apparent than in its new AquaMatic line. Built as an everyday sports watch, the Cribbar boasts 200m of water resistance, a 38.5mm case cut from a solid block of marine-grade 316L stainless steel, a unidirectional timing bezel, and oversized hands and indices infilled with gobs of bright-glowing Super-LumiNova. The Swiss-made automatic watch also comes with three straps: a sky blue NATO, a quick-release black rubber strap, and a quick-release jubilee bracelet in stainless steel.
