Ever since its debut in 1964, Buck’s Model 110 Folding Hunter has become one of the most legendary knives of all time. Coveted for how it packs the strength of a fixed blade with the compact nature of a folder, the 110 has no shortage of iterations and spin-offs over the years. But this year has already seen some of the most modern-looking variants ever.
Joining the completely mirror-polished We Are Knifemakers model from a few weeks ago, the 110 now gets several modern features for its latest Stealth Run #013 edition.

A Little Backstory
Hoyt Buck started forging blades from worn-out files in 1902, not for profit, but because he wanted an edge that actually held. That obsession with performance has been the company’s north star ever since, and it shows up most clearly in the 110. When Buck officially incorporated in 1961 and brought the Folding Hunter to market three years later, it sold at roughly $16–$20 with a lifetime warranty attached. It promptly broke the industry’s brain. Over 15 million units later, the design hasn’t needed to prove itself to anyone.
The Stealth Run series, which launched in the early 2020s, is Buck’s way of honoring that legacy. Each numbered drop is a limited, upgraded take on the 110 (different steels, premium materials, refined fit and finish, etc.) built for collectors and hard users alike. The early runs (#001–#005) introduced titanium frames and Paul Bos heat-treated blades that sold out in hours. By runs #006–#010, the Auto Elite format entered the picture alongside MagnaCut steel. Run #013 is where both of those threads finally come together.

The Good Stuff
The blade here is a satin-finished, drop-point MagnaCut at 0.120″ thick and 3.75″ long, and it gets the full Paul Bos heat treat. Bos has a well-earned reputation for coaxing more out of steel than most heat treaters think possible, and CPM MagnaCut is already one of the most premium blade steels you can find with superb edge retention, corrosion resistance, and toughness.
The handle swaps the traditional Crelicam ebony for marbled carbon fiber flanked by nickel silver bolsters. It’s a striking combination, with the carbon fiber visual aesthetic getting grounded by the classic hardware look of nickel silver. For Buck, this material combination is relatively new territory, and it works.

Auto or Not
The deployment is button-actuated, single-action automatic. A shield-shaped button on the presentation side of the handle sends the blade out fast. It’s not the first time the Auto Elite format has appeared in a Stealth Run, but the combination of it with MagnaCut and carbon fiber in the same package is new. And the knife still closes via the classic back lock at the butt of the handle.
There’s no pocket clip, as expected but the knife ships with a black leather sheath instead, which is color-coordinated and very much in keeping with the 110 tradition.
