Months removed from their recent wintertime partnership, Adsum has teamed up with Merrell 1TRL yet again. By taking the former’s emblematic MOAB 2 hiking boot and reworking it with a hefty number of weatherized upgrades, the two have unveiled another joint effort that has us ready to trek the nearest mountainside.
Garnering inspiration from the Brooklyn-based bootmaker’s stomping grounds, the Adsum + Merrell 1TRL MOAB 2 Mid channels upstate New York’s Adirondack Mountains. These sturdy new stompers come to shape via a GORE-TEX waterproof membrane, which is classed up by an upper composed of waterproof full-grain leather and mesh. They also feature a sturdy toe cap and mesh lining for enhanced protection and breathability, ensuring that the trails are no match for these.
On to the shoe’s equally-impressive bottom half, the MOAB 2 sits on Vibram’s ultra-grippy TC5+ outsole, an airy EVA midsole for enhanced performance, and a contoured footbed courtesy of Merrell. Seeing as you’re bound to wear these upon trudging through the mud, it’s appropriate that their woodland-adjacent color palette consists of forest green and deep brown, with hints of black spread throughout, deeming this the perfect outdoor shoe from more than just a comfort standpoint.
If you need some new hiking boots, we recommend getting a move on these before it’s too late. The Adsum + Merrell 1TRL Moab 2 Mid hiking boots are available now on Adsum’s site for $175.
