As a result of Stranger Things‘ immense popularity, ’80s-era fashion has become a major trend as of late, and one of the brands that helped the show achieve its nostalgic look is now helping fans of the Netflix series do the same. Crescent Down Works is responsible for designing the custom, USA-made down sweater for season 4 of the show, and it has now been made available for pre-order following online demand.
The Seattle-bred boutique brand crafts this cold-weather-ready piece from wind-resistant ripstop nylon, which composes its plush shell and soft lining. Then, its features 11 ounces of 700+ fill power ethically sourced goose down for bolstered warmth. Lastly, it’s all finished off with cozy down-filled pockets, a leather snap reinforcement, and a drawcord at the hem for easy adjustability.
This piece of technical outerwear was designed for Sheriff Jim Hopper and Joyce Byers (David Harbour and Winona Ryder) to wear during their Russian subplot and is merely one of the countless garments you’ll find in the acclaimed show with an inimitable sense of retro flair. From its ‘80s-style color blocking to its quilted baffling, this jacket is one example of why Stranger Things has had such a prominent influence on the fashion world, particularly in pertinence to second-hand pieces. Luckily, this old-school-inspired example is brand-new, which sheds the need to peruse through thrift store clothing racks and online vintage shops to no avail.
Crescent Down Works’ made-in-Seattle Down Sweater from season 4 of Stranger Things is available to pre-order on its webshop for $875 — but act fast before supply runs out.
