Carhartt WIP Puts a Tactical Touch on Salomon’s CSWP Shelter Hiking Boots

Carhartt WIP has had its fair share of collaborations in the past few years. From working with iconic fashion labels to renowned sneaker shops, the Detroit workwear brand’s streetwear sector is looking to harp on the latter once again, now coming together with the revered athletic shoemakers over at Salomon. As a result, the two have linked up to put a spin on the French brand’s CSWP Shelter hiking boot.

Salomon’s technical prowess has consistently managed to stand out when it comes to crafting footwear that’s built to take on any activity, and this silhouette is debatably one of the French clothiers’ most iconic, having received previous makeovers courtesy of other brands. This take on the hiking boot is entirely waterproof, lightly insulated, and sits on a dual rubber outsole to provide a bolstered grip. It is touched up with ripstop elements across the upper, courtesy of Carhartt’s popular subbrand, which has grown accustomed to applying to countless other garments.

Fusing top-notch performance with a sense of stylish subtly is what Salomon does best, and WIP has been around the block a couple of times itself, which is why these boots manage to look as great as they operate when outdoors. The Shelter CSWP’s subdued colorway and lack of branding assist in bringing the silhouette to life without any unnecessary flair.

These are two of the industry’s biggest names, and that was the case before either of them was considered trendy. The trail-appropriate CSWP Shelter boots from Salomon and Carhartt WIP will be available through the latter’s website for $195 starting February 10th.
