Ford Broncos Are Getting Heritage Editions in Honor of the 1966 Original

Originally an interpolation of the Jeeps that the company made for the Army during World War II, the Ford Bronco debuted in 1966 and lasted three decades until giving way to the rise of the four-door SUVs in the ‘90s, which made two-door options undesirable. That 30-year history, however, is among the most notable of any vehicle in American culture. Appearing in over 1,000 movies, countless shows, and one infamous police chase, the car still managed to live on in its afterlife as well.

Last year, the Bronco made its long-awaited return after a 25-year absence, with both two- and four-door options available. For the 2023 model year, Ford has decided to pay homage to the original 1966 line with a Heritage Edition for each model variation, including the Bronco Sport SUV. Equipped with the iconic white painted roofs and white grills, the Heritage Editions will be available in a total of five color options, including Robin’s Egg Blue upon launch, while the 1971-inspired Yellowstone Metallic will roll out later next year and Peak Blue the year after.

In addition to the Heritage Edition, there will be a Heritage Limited Edition variant, limited to just 1,966 examples for each Bronco model. These trims will have Bronco badging inscribed along the side of the car, vinyl plaid seats on the inside with white and red accent stitching, and special Heritage console badging. The EcoBoost engines on each vehicle will also get an upgrade on each Heritage Limited Edition car.

Prices will range from $34,245 all the way up to $66,895, depending on which version you get. The Bronco Sport Heritage Edition and Heritage Limited Edition are available to order now, while the standard Bronco SUVs will roll out later this year.

Purchase: $34,245+
