Among the best American-made watch brands, Weiss is certainly near the top. The California watchmaker is a point of pride in the American watch space, as their impeccable attention to detail and high level of craftsmanship have garnered them well-deserved acclaim. Given their pursuit of artisanal excellence, it’s no wonder that Weiss is teaming up with esteemed leather-workers and proud sons of Oregon, Tanner Goods, to release an ultra-limited-edition field watch.
The Weiss x Tanner Goods 38mm Limited Issue Field Watch is a gorgeous, handmade timepiece that embodies American artisanship at its finest. Channeling Weiss’ usual adventure-driven ethos, the Limited Issue Field Watch was inspired by Cameron Weiss’ (the founder of Weiss Watch Company) dives into the Pacific Ocean and quests through the Sierra Nevadas. It serves as a sportier upgrade to Weiss’ classic offerings by featuring a unique design with custom dial-matched Super-LumiNova lume on the indices as well as the hands. Moreover, the Limited Issue Field Watch sports a naval brass dial for a finish that balances style and class while still feeling handmade. For its construction, the watch features a hand-polished, surgical-grade 316L stainless steel case and a double-domed and beveled sapphire crystal that lends this watch to both casual and upscale settings. Furthermore, the Limited Issue Field Watch boasts a water resistance of 100m, which adds to its rugged durability. Of course, we can’t forget its custom, hand-stitched Black Shell Cordovan Strap that the talented folks at Tanner Goods made.
Given the handmade nature of both the gorgeous timepiece and the custom strap, Weiss and Tanner Goods are limiting the production of these handsome watches to a scant 30 units. The Weiss x Tanner 38mm Limited Issue Field Watch retails for $1,600.
