Zenith Celebrates a Classic Anime Series with a Lupin the Third Chronomaster

Zenith watches has been making classic timepieces since its inception in 1865. Through its illustrious history, the Swiss luxury brand and automatic chronograph pioneer has made a litany of special-edition pieces. One unique example that merged its Swiss design with Japanese popular culture is its series of limited-edition watches that pay tribute to the historically popular anime series, Lupin the Third. Given their striking design and popular source material, the watches were a hit. Now, Zenith endeavors to continue that momentum with the release of its third and final edition of Lupin the Third watches.

The Zenith Chronomaster Revival Lupin The Third – Final Edition is a striking timepiece that would catch the eye of the show’s protagonist and gentleman thief, Arsène Lupin III. Much like how this line of watches blends two different worlds, the Final Edition Chronomaster Revival literally blends the aesthetics of the first two Lupin the Third watches to create a truly unique aesthetic. It fuses the A384-inspired watches that Lupin’s right-hand man and fashion expert Daisuke Jigen wore on the first and last episodes of the hit show. The Final Edition dial combines the black and gilt dial of the first-edition watch with the white panda dial of the second edition to create a stunning asymmetrical dial that’s half-black, half-white. For added contrast, the gold hands and applied indices pop on both the white and black sides of the dial to add an extra level of flair to this already head-turning timepiece.

The watch itself features a 37mm barrel-shaped titanium case, which is a reproduction of the 1969 A384 case that inspired Jigen’s watch in the first episode of Lupin the Third. Moreover, the Final Edition is powered by Zenith’s trademark El Primero automatic high-frequency integrated chronograph calibre, which is on gorgeous display thanks to its exhibition case back that also has an engraving of Jigen on the back. The Final Edition Chronomaster Revival Lupin the Third — Final Edition retails for $10,000 and is now available for preorder from Zenith.
