Not necessarily known for its woodsy colorways, sci-fi-inspired watch brand Urwerk has now debuted a Hunter Green version of its titanium UR-100V, a watch that’s inherently garish in its design and usually complemented with similarly bold or at least metallic colors. However, now, you can take your $65,000 timepiece into the forest and feel right at home.
Titanium and Urwerk
Fans were excited when the Swiss watch brand gave its flagship 100 series watch a shot-blasted titanium case back in 2023. Dubbed the Magic T, this watch was given a unique finishing process that created a sense of muted texture that only accentuated the model’s minimalism and beauty through reflections of light from different angles. Titanium’s specific aesthetic fits in with Urwerk’s branding much better than that of other watchmakers, with its unorthodox designs and futuristic aesthetics.
Urwerk UR-100V Magic T Hunter Green
Now, Urwerk has kept most of the Magic T the same except it’s swapped the black dial for an earthy green shade that we can’t help but fawn over. It’s kept everything the same, including the 41mm x 49.7mm case size, with a 14mm thickness. And, of course, you have the hallmark wandering hours complication with a 120-degree graduated minutes arc, powered by the same caliber 12.02 automatic caliber with a Vaucher base.
Essentially, you read the time from a trio of rotating “satellite” discs, which point to the minutes arc, from 0 to 60, after which the new hour takes over and an arrow springs back to 0. Like the 2023 model, the Hunter Green dial also has increased legibility compared to previous models. Here, the arrow pointing to the minutes is a highlighter yellow color, as is the number 60. For nighttime visibility, the hours and minutes were painted in Super-LumiNova.
A smaller detail also returns at the sides of the dial, where the Earth’s rotational distance at the equator and orbital velocity around the Sun are given via ROTAT and REVOL flanges, respectively. This might not appeal to everyone but is a distinct detail that sets Urwerk apart from the pack, like always. Lastly, the watch is paired with a handsome titanium bracelet to match the case.
