Based in Milan, Unimatic is a unique Italian micro brand that produces limited runs of minimalistic military and dive-inspired watches. For the company’s latest special edition release, it has teamed up with Naples, Florida-based horological retailer, Exquisite Timepieces, to produce a limited run of special Modello Uno watches known as the U1S-ET.
Based on the Italian brands existing Modello Uno model, the dive watch has been treated to a largely blacked out color-scheme with the timepiece’s 40mm 316 stainless steel case receiving a black brushed DLC finish. The same treatment was also bestowed upon the watch’s matte black engraved bezel — a uni-directional-rotating 120-click aluminum item with a raised orange lume dot at 12 o’clock. The U1S-ET also sports a matte black dial that’s juxtaposed via white Super-LumiNova C1 hour markers, white seconds and hour hands, and a dark orange Super-LumiNova minute hand. Made in Italy, the watch is water-resistant down to 300 meters.
Mated to a heavy-duty nylon NATO-style strap, this limited edition Modello Uno variant also boasts a Unimatic conversion scale screw-down caseback that’s inscribed with each limited edition unit’s production number. Inside the case lies a Swiss-made self-winding Automatic calibre Sellita SW200-1 movement with a 38-hour power reserve and a beat rate of 28,800. In typical Unimatic fashion, the Modello Uno U1S-ET is sold inside a custom Pelican-style crushproof case that houses a second included dark orange nylon strap.
Limited to just 100 units worldwide, the Unimatic x Exquisite Timepieces Modello Uno U1S-ET has been priced at $1,150.
