Timex and Todd Snyder have been collaborating for the better part of a decade now, and have delivered some stellar timepieces in the process. The partnership between the two brands has been part of a broader strategy (that includes some incredible releases over the years) by Timex to rehabilitate their reputation in the enthusiast space – and it’s absolutely working.
And while every collab between the New York men’s label and Timex has been round, it felt like it was only a matter of time until we got something with a square case, especially considering how hot Cartier’s vintage tanks have become. With the 1976 Lexington, Snyder finally dips into Timex’s rectangular archives, and the result is a watch that punches so far above its price point it’s almost unfair.

Born on the Runway
The Lexington actually made its debut last September at Todd Snyder’s Spring/Summer 2026 runway show, “La Buena Vida,” styled alongside warm-weather suits and Cuban-inflected menswear. The runway versions included a salmon pink and a Tiffany-esque blue that had watch enthusiasts losing their minds on social media, though (unfortunately) the three colorways hitting shelves today are khaki, butter yellow, and black.
That said, these three are no consolation prize. The color palette draws from 1950s Havana and 1980s Miami, and the warm tones feel genuinely considered rather than pulled from a marketing mood board. The butter yellow on a black leather strap is the standout for us.

Not Your Usual Tank Homage
Here’s where the Todd Snyder version separates itself. Timex quietly released its own 1976 Lexington reissue earlier this year with Roman numerals, a gilt case, and a croc-embossed strap for $149. Snyder’s take strips the gilt for polished stainless steel, swaps the Roman numerals for applied Arabic numerals alternating with angled dashes, and adds a subtle “TS” logo just above the 6 o’clock marker. It’s a small move that completely changes the character of the watch, shifting it from vintage-faithful to something with a bit more of a modern, Art Deco-inspired personality.
The two-hand dial (no seconds hand) feels like a smart decision here. It keeps the face clean and, just as importantly, hides the quartz movement’s telltale tick. Cartier uses the same trick on their quartz Tank models, and at $169 versus $13,000-plus, the comparison is worth making.

Details That Earn the $20 Premium
The 21mm polished stainless steel case sits just 8mm thick, so this thing will tuck nicely under a shirt cuff. And an 18mm lug width gives you plenty of aftermarket strap options if you do want to switch things up. The mineral glass crystal sits raised and flat across the top, mimicking the look of vintage plexiglass without the scratch-prone downsides.

Two of the three references (black and butter yellow) come on black leather straps, while the khaki dial gets a tan leather strap. All three feature branded steel pin buckles and co-branded “Timex x Todd Snyder” engravings on the caseback.
