Omega’s Ice-Inspired Seamaster Is a Tribute to the 2022 Winter Olympics

Despite being named after the last letter of the Greek alphabet, Omega is one of the first brands people associate with luxury watches. The Swiss watchmaker’s luxurious style and dogged pursuit of excellence have garnered them worldwide acclaim for well over a century. Given their watches‘ reputation, it’s no surprise that Omega has been the Official Timekeeper of the Olympics for 30 years. To commemorate their third decade in the role, as well as signal the upcoming Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, Omega is launching a winter-themed Seamaster.

Omega designed the Seamaster Aqua Terra Beijing 2022 using the frigid winter elements as their muse. Every aspect of this carefully crafted timepiece takes inspiration from winter. The watch features a white ceramic dial with a frost-finished pattern, which the blued indexes and hands complement nicely. For an added layer of contrast, Omega filled the hands and indexes white Super-LumiNova. The watch sits atop a 316L stainless steel bracelet with OMEGA’s patented screw and pin system. On the caseback, you will find an embossed Beijing 2022 emblem over the Omega Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8900 that beats away inside. The Seamaster Aqua Terra also features a 41mm stainless steel case and bracelet along with a domed sapphire crystal which has an anti-reflective treatment on both sides. The watch also comes in a special-edition Olympic Games presentation box, along with the 5-year warranty that comes with all Omega watches.

Whether you’re an athlete participating in the games or a viewer cheering on your country in the warmth of your home, these special timepieces are the perfect tribute to the Winter Olympics. The Seamaster Aqua Terra Beijing 2022 retails for $6,200 and can be purchased on the Omega website.
