HODINKEE Revamps Longines’ Sector Watch in a Vintage-Inspired Collab

While based out of New York, HODINKEE gets its name from the Czech word that simply translates to “wristwatch.” Keeping things simple and honorable has always been in the top-shelf e-commerce platform’s wheelhouse, and we’re seeing that again with the site’s recent collaboration with Longines, a brand that has been making horologists proud dating back to the 1830s. Having now come together, the two watch industry heavy hitters are debuting the Longines Heritage Classic Limited Edition, made specifically for HODINKEE.

Four years ago, HODINKEE sought out to collaborate with the near-two-centuries-old Swiss luxury brand and often stumbled in regard to how both of these reputable names would go about their joint project. Now, they’ve finally figured things out, and the end product looks well worth the wait. Putting a twist on Longines’ iconic “Sector” dress watch, HODINKEE drew inspiration from some of the brand’s chronometers at the turn of the twentieth century. The dial features a two-tone cream center that’s finished off by a brushed silver finish. A pair of heat-blued hands traverse above the clean, crosshair-free dial and small-seconds subdial at 6 o’clock. The movement inside the svelte 38.5mm stainless steel case is Longine’s automatic caliber L893.4 (base ETA A31.501), which, in keeping with tradition, is a COSC-certified chronometer.

Released in a rare run of 500 pieces, the Longines Heritage Classic Limited Edition for HODINKEE is sold on a nostalgia-inducing beads-of-rice bracelet and comes with an additional brown leather strap. The watch is available exclusively from the HODINKEE Shop for $2,500.
