Fashion and entertainment have shared a symbiotic relationship for decades. Their forums overlap in many ways, so it makes perfect sense for one to heavily influence the other. In particular, Hamilton has fostered a reputation as Hollywood’s favorite watch brand thanks to the large number of film-featured and movie-collaborative models in its catalog. In fact, the American-founded, Swiss-owned watchmaker is often called the “movie brand” due to its close association with Hollywood. Now, Hamilton looks to continue its star-studded legacy with the release of its new digital quartz watch: the Hamilton PSR MTX.
Hamilton’s PSR MTX watch is a limited edition version of the existing retro PSR and marks the upcoming installment of the hit film franchise, The Matrix. Changing things up from the regular PSR, the Hamilton PSR MTX features a Green LCD & OLED hybrid display in place of the original red one, and it is outfitted with a stainless steel case that is treated with a black PVD coating, which results in a smooth, matte finish. The black PVD coating used to treat the case extends to the stainless steel bracelet to yield a streamlined silhouette. On its case back, Hamilton inscribed the Matrix’s iconic digital rain pattern to give wearers an extra layer of authenticity from the watch’s source material. Moreover, the Hamilton PSR MTX sports a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating and boasts 100m of water resistance.
This retro-futuristic timepiece comes in a collector’s box that also features the famous digital rain pattern, and in honor of its 1999 release date, Hamilton is limiting the number of pieces to 1999. The Hamilton PSR MTX digital quartz watch retails for $995 and can be purchased on the brand’s website.
