For nearly 70 years, the Patrouille de France has wowed anyone who’s ever been fortunate enough to witness the skill of the precision aerobatics demonstration unit. With a lineup that’s rooted in an appreciation for all things aeronautics, watchmaker Bell & Ross was undoubtedly ecstatic to have partnered with the French Air and Space Force’s flight display team back in 2021.
In that time, Bell & Ross and Patrouille de France teamed up on a quartz version of the BR 03 chronograph and an automatic BR 03-94. Now, the duo has unveiled its latest watch, a BR 03 Type A with both digital and analog displays, the latter of which is powered by a quartz movement. Sporting a matte blue dial with the flight team’s logo like the previous two timepieces, this new release also features a 42mm satin-polished steel case with a blue rubber strap (the previous models had either black ceramic or black steel cases).
For reading the time at a quick glance, the new watch ditches the second hand in favor of a digital display of the seconds instead. The other digital readout can be toggled between chronograph, lap timer, countdown, second time zone, alarm, and perpetual calendar functions.
Limited to just 100 pieces, the BR 03 Type A Patrouille de France is priced at $4,400, available for pre-order now with deliveries expected for the end of January.
