In a year chock-full of shoe collaborations, two of the space’s most storied brands waited until the eleventh hour to showcase something we’ve never seen before. Working alongside each other for the first time, Vans and Timberland released a joint effort idealized for the casual outdoorsman.

The new release coats two iconic silhouettes in heritage branding, acknowledging the inaugural collab. Starting with what Timberland is known for, the shoemakers composed a pair of Premium 6-Inch Boots doused in Vans’ signature checkerboard print. This black-on-black makeover doesn’t skimp on functionality, as the boot retains its trusty waterproof membrane and innovative anti-fatigue tech for weatherized wearability and all-day comfort.

In addition to this iconic set of stompers, the capsule shines a light on one of the California brand’s most popular silhouettes: the oft-overlooked Half-Cab. Unsurprisingly, the two opted to put forth a hiking-capable iteration, utilizing Timberland’s Better Leather upper, a lugged outsole, and a padded collar for the perfect fit. This pair is available in the bootmaker’s signature shade of Wheat and a Dark Brown look with dark green accents. On top of all this, each shoe is made using ReBOTL material, which is made of at least 50% recycled PET, deeming them as stylish as they are sustainable.
