Aside from sports and red carpet events, the fashion runway is one of the last remaining occurrences where you can see flurries of camera flashes, the “old fashioned way.” Presenting its FW25 lineup, Moncler Grenoble is returning to its mountain roots with a runway event in Courchevel, located in the French Alps, where the brand originated in 1952. To celebrate, the fashion icon has teamed up with German camera brand Leica for a limited-edition version of the Sofort 2.

What’s the Sofort 2 All About?
If you’re looking for an instant camera that’s just a touch above what you’d get with the boilerplate affordable options available, Leica’s Sofort 2 is the way to go. Not only does it have hybrid capability — meaning it’s a digital camera that lets you print out the images also — but you can get creative with the output thanks to the camera’s on-board settings and its connection to Lecia’s FOTOS phone app.

Two Icons in One
For this limited-to-100 release, the Sofort 2 has been dressed in all white, which doesn’t look dissimilar to the regular Sofort 2 in white. However, Moncler has put its own branding on the unit, including its logo on the bottom right, offsetting Leica’s signature Red Dot on the upper left. On top of the camera reads, “MONCLER GRENOBLE COURCHEVEL 2025” to commemorate the event.
This is not the first Leica x Moncler collaboration. However, the most recent came all the way back in 2014 with a blue-, white-, and red-colored leather-wrapped variant of the Leica X, which was limited to 1,500 pieces.

Same Great Quality
This special-edition Sofort 2 is no different, function-wise, than your standard Sofort 2. That means a ⅕-inch CMOS sensor that takes 4.9-MP photos through a Summar 1:2/2.4mm lens. While the on-board storage holds just 45 images that can be exported with a microSD or Bluetooth, the battery life at full charge will let you print 100 photos via rebranded Fujifilm Instax Mini film. You can also edit the photos prior to printing.
