LAYER Packed VITURE’s Immersive Smart Glasses with a 120″ Virtual Screen

Opportunities to be entertained come from every angle these days, but how far would you go to access them in the most casual way possible? Luckily for us, Layer Design answered this question with its latest venture, collaborating with VITURE to design a pair of smart glasses that put you in the heart of your favorite movies, shows, and games.

Looking to shed the need for standard displays, such as TVs, laptops, and the ever-so-accessible smartphone, LAYER designed a fashionable set of sunglasses-adjacent eyewear that is arguably as technologically advanced as any smart glasses we’ve seen to date. By implementing a 120″ virtual display within the lenses, users can toss these on, kick back, and select something to watch from a library of popular streaming services or remote play their PlayStation 5.

Serving as the first-ever wearable device operated by Google TV, labeling the VITURE One as groundbreaking would be a bit of an understatement. However, it’s worth noting that this is not the first immersion-geared piece of headgear that the innovative British firm has designed, as LAYER unveiled a collaborative effort with the wellness-oriented Resonate on a unique mediation headset just last year.

It’s safe to say that no virtual reality headset on the market is quite capable of pulling off what LAYER’s VITURE One can do — at least not yet, anyway. In the meantime, this joint effort shattered its Kickstarter goal by well over $500,000 and can be yours for a minimum pledge of $399.
