The Apogee Exoskeleton Suit Looks to Change the Future of the Workplace

Several years after unveiling the Cray X — the first exoskeleton of its kind, providing over 65lbs of lift support and walking assistance — German Bionics has now made a robotic wearable that’s more comfortable and accessible.

If your job requires a lot of lifting and walking, the brand’s sixth-generation wearable tool may be the solution you’ve been looking for. Debuting at this year’s CES event in Las Vegas, the Apogee takes the same approach as the Cray X to make workplace safety more attainable. The firm’s lightest power suit so far, the device takes up to 66lbs of weight off your lower back when lifting and helps you last longer while on your feet all day.

Water- and dust-resistant, the Apogee comes in sizes from XS to XL and sports an updated vest that’s easier to put on before work, with a floating connector for added comfort. Utilizing the new German Bionic IO platform with real-time data readouts, the Apogee debuts alongside the Smart SafetyVest, a lightweight vest that monitors and analyzes ergonomic performance and lets you know when you’re moving in a way that’s unsafe.
