The world of action cameras is an exciting frontier for camera technology. While they may have started as smaller and rugged options that sacrificed some functionality for utility, they’re becoming increasingly high-quality by the year, and these sacrifices are getting smaller (along with the cameras themselves). DJI may be best known for its camera drones, but the label’s action cameras are just as impressive, and when the Osmo Action 3 came out just less than a year ago, it was clear the brand was getting serious about them. Now, DJI has released the Osmo Action 4, which improves upon the Action 3 with quality-of-life features and upgrades.

The Osmo Action 4 now has a larger 1/1.3-inch sensor, making it much better for shooting in low-light conditions. It’s capable of 4K/120fps, provides a 155-degree ultra-wide field of view, and features D-Log M color performance. You’re getting up to two and a half hours of battery life, and it’s deep freeze resistant, so you can use it safely in cold conditions (and it’s waterproof in depths of up to 18m without a case). DJI’s 360º HorizonSteady and RockSteady 3.0 technology provides image stabilization that quickly adjusts to any angle you find yourself in, and the color temperature calibration automatically tunes the camera so you’re always capturing true-to-life tones (it can even adjust underwater).

This camera comes with many add-ons and bundle options, which the magnetic-quick release allows you to use. You can attach it to a selfie stick and get to vlogging, or put it on your helmet to get some first-person action footage.
