Suunto’s Sustainable 9 Peak Pro Boasts Best-In-Class Battery Life

Suunto’s catalog of smartwatches is some of the most functional around, and its new, carbon-compensated 9 Peak Pro offers all the premium tech in an elegant package.

The GPS multisport watch is handcrafted in Finland using 100% renewable energy, deeming it the brand’s first to have its carbon footprint compensated via Verified Carbon Units — in layman’s terms, the gadget will only produce as much as 16.5 pounds of carbon emissions through its entire lifespan. Sustainability aside, the smartwatch is easy on the eyes, boasting a chic, razor-thin design language that builds off the standard 9 Peak. Additionally, it is built to last and minimize waste, proven by its top-grade composition. Moreover, The Pro will be available in six iterations. Four are composed using stainless steel, while an additional pair of models of titanium, but each of them contains a sturdy sapphire glass.

Function-wise, the smartwatch boasts over 90 sport modes with customization options, allowing you to monitor a plethora of workouts precisely. One of the 97 options includes a new snorkeling mode that can monitor activity from depths as low as 10 meters. On top of that, it offers standard daily activity tracking like steps, heart rate, and stress. Lastly, its battery operates in three modes: Performance, Endurance, and Tour. While the watch can last up to three weeks following a full charge, it can last as long as 300 hours in Tour mode.
