Vans Nabs Fellow Californian Mollusk Surf Shop for a Shore-Ready Collab

With its excessively laid-back demeanor and breezy fashion statements, there’s a lot to love about Mollusk. The surf shop has embraced its California roots since it first hit the scene in 2005, and its new collaboration with Vans might be the most West Coast-encapsulating capsule we’ve seen this year.

The thought of summertime sits at the forefront of this collection, evoked by the shoes’ color palettes and the interesting use of textiles. The collection consists of a reimagined trio of Vans’ most beloved silhouettes, including the Authentic, Slip-On, and Chukka. The pictured Authentic is composed of smooth corduroy and finished off with a rusty orange color that has simply been labeled “Earth.” Next, the Green/Antique-colored pair of Slip-Ons are highlighted by a hemp-made upper and a subtle, sage-like shade.

Rounding out this collection of casual kicks is Mollusk’s sleek take on the Chukka, which boasts a distressed, blacked-out upper. Each of the three shoes features a patterned lining and cork-made Ultracush insole, providing comfort and anti-odor capabilities. This collaboration doesn’t stop with shoes, however, as it also features a pair of hats perfect for summer and a trio of graphic tees featuring artist Nathaniel Russell’s most popular drawings.

The Vans x Mollusk capsule is available on the former’s site now, with pieces starting from $32 and with the shoes priced from $65.
