For those who aren’t aware of Ron Finley’s work, he got his start in Los Angeles circa 2010 when he noticed that scores of South Central citizens were living in a food desert. To combat this inequity, Ron converted a strip of grass between his sidewalk and the street into an organic community garden. When the City pushed back, so did Ron, who got the attention and adoration of Angelenos and social media. This success catapulted him into the limelight, and he has since been an advocate for the impoverished.
The Digging in Capsule channels Finley’s ethos of how “everything starts with a seed,” and communicates his message through a collection of sustainable clothes.
