It’s safe to say that Reigning Champ is one of the best athleisure brands on the market. The Vancouver-based standout has transitioned wonderfully from making stylized streetwear to more utilitarian athleisure. And while the brand naturally has plenty of incredible garments in its solo catalog, it has also turned heads with its array of collaborations. In particular, the brand’s two team-ups with designer Jide Osifeso have made huge impacts on the space, combining utility, style, and comfort. Now, the Canadian brand is teaming up with Osifeso for the third time to create an all-new collection that rehabilitates some of the most-maligned pieces of garb out there.
The Season three Collection deviates from Jide Osifeso’s first two collections with Reigning Champ by focusing strictly on modern utility. Combining a technical approach with comfortable style and modern design, Season Three elevates streetwear in a way wholly unique to Reigning Champ and Osifeso. The Collection includes ten garments, from velour tracksuits to a hoodie, mockneck shirts, and even a sun hat. As with many of RC’s collections, the garments share a streamlined and minimalistic design and neutral colorways.
Featuring a paneled design and textured nylon construction, the capsule’s metal-colored track jacket is an elevated and modernized take on a staple piece of outerwear. The collection’s velour crew neck and track pants may not be the best to run in, but the jet-black garments offer a luxurious feel and unrivaled comfort without sacrificing style. Sharing a similar paneled build as the track jacket, the brushed fleece hoodie looks as awesome as it feels and sports Osifeso’s signature Note embroidery on its left sleeve.
The collection also includes a dual-layered mockneck shirt, a copper-infused jersey cotton t-shirt, and a set of cargo pants and cargo shorts that are made of crinkled stretch nylon with a DWR finish — leave it to these guys to make cargo shorts cool.
