Through their partnership, Oliver Peoples and Brunello Cucinelli have designed some marvelous shades that anyone can appreciate. In an attempt at mixing the old with the new, the pair of fanciful brands’ latest collection pays homage to the glitz and glamour of Hollywood’s Golden Age through a quartet of classy silhouettes.
The collaborative spring line consists of the Capanelle, Eduardo, Jep-R, and Oliver Sun, each of which is available in a myriad of handsome color palettes. Starting with the Capanelle, it’s a swanky, square-shaped Clubmaster style of shades with a metal/acetate frame. Coming in second is the Eduardo, a panto-shaped pair of optical glasses with a keyhole bridge that’s rounded out with a stylish sunglasses clip. Next up is the Jep-R, a bold, thick, black acetate optical frame that looks timelessly stylish. Lastly, the Oliver Sun finishes things off with its bold tortoiseshell acetate frames and green-tinted lenses.
These stunning new specs are not simply inspired by old Hollywood, as the brands also garnered a particular inspiration from the storied Bradbury Building. This relic of Los Angeles architecture has served as an integral element of countless film classics, including everything from Chinatown and The Cheap Detective to Blade Runner and (500) Days of Summer. With the building having been around since 1893, this capsule keeps the landmark’s timeless, archetypal ethos in mind.
All four pieces in this latest collection of glasses and sunglasses from these two high-end designer labels are available now on Oliver Peoples’ website, ranging in price from $516 for the Jep-R to $672 for Eduardo.
