Nike makes some of the finest athletic and performance shoes on the planet but after strenuous workouts, our feet can get sore even with the most comfortable sneakers. Once you’ve spent an hour or two in training, you’ll want to slip into something less confined once you do finally get the chance to relax — you owe yourself at least that much. That’s where recovery shoes come in. Whether your feet are wide, narrow, or high-arched, the footwear legend’s ReactX Rejuven8 is intended to help ease pressure and get back on your feet quicker.

Available in four colorways — black, gray, orange, and beige — the ReactX Rejuven8 boasts Nike’s relatively new ReactX foam (hence the name). This proprietary material is used in the midsole in several of the brand’s latest running shoes, like the Pegasus 41, but is now employed as the primary material. That means the foam makes up the uppers as well. Now instead of just bringing responsiveness underneath, your entire foot is surrounded by the foam. Compared to traditional React foam, ReactX is said to be 13% more responsive, which makes a big difference during recovery especially. What’s more, React X also cuts down carbon emissions by upwards of 43% compared to standard React foam, helping Nike reach its goal of reducing its carbon footprint by 63% by 2030 (and net zero by 2050).

Underneath the recovery shoes are sticky rubber outsoles that give you superb grip on slick surfaces like basketball courts or wet pavement. Meanwhile, the extra room built into the front of your toes allows for a better fit on a wider range of feet. The closed design helps for better support and security when walking; you don’t have to worry about these lifting up. But to give you more of a slide-like feel, the ReactX Rejuven8 features built-in ventilation holes above the toes for breathability.
