Like streetwear in general, slip-on silhouettes have become more popular, and the entire fashion world, from industry giants to designer boutiques, is taking a swing at the style. As far as the big names go, we’ve seen that the greats like Nike and adidas are quick to embrace more casual looks, while injecting some of their trademark technology in the process. Striking a balance between functional and comfortable can be challenging, but the Swoosh has done it again with the Nike Air VaporMax Moc Roam, a unique slip-on with VaporMax cushioning.

Don’t let the easy-going look of these shoes fool you; sure, they’re equipped with a laceless textile upper (for both easy-wearing and a modern look), but they also come with a full-length VaporMax unit to keep your feet cushioned and contribute to the overall lightweight look and feel of the slip-on. The VaporMax units are also fully covered in paint this time around, something usually reserved for the all-black colorways, and have this unique tube-like pattern on the outsole.

The VaporMax lineup has been around since 2017, and while the technology is certainly useful, this is one of those silhouettes that depart from the usual drops, and confidently rocks the laceless look. This isn’t the first time Nike has jumped on the blend of streetwear and casual wear, with releases like the Calm Slide that dropped this past summer demonstrating that, and the upcoming Calm Mule is looking to be another sleek yet cushiony release.

The Nike Air VaporMax Moc Roam is available now in the Light Stone and Luminous Green colorway for $220 via Nike’s SNKRS site. It doesn’t look like the black colorway teased earlier this year is on the American site quite yet, but keep your eyes peeled on SNKRS, as they’ll likely release later this month.
