Sweatpants don’t have to be complicated. Oftentimes, clothing brands spend so much time trying to reinvent the wheel that they forget just how brilliant the wheel is to begin with. Nike’s ACG sub-label has recently debuted the new Lungs Therma-FIT Repel “Tuff Fleece” Pants, and we’re going to explore what makes these simple sweats stand out.
Typically known for its outdoor-focused clothing and gear, the design-forward ACG (“All Conditions Gear”) range definitely has some flexibility as well, as shown with these sweatpants. While most people won’t opt for sweats out on the trail, the Lungs “Tuff Fleec” Pants can be a nice option for quick day jaunts through the forest on a brisk December morning. Sporting a cotton (75%) and polyester (25%) blend, the pants feature Nike’s Therma-FIT tech, which is designed to help harness your natural body heat for unbelievable warmth. The interior gets bolstered with some plush brushed fleece for added toastiness. Meanwhile, the outside also gets a water-repellant finish for the days you find yourself in some unexpected wet weather — or simply experience a water bottle dripping on your leg.
Available in black, khaki, and “Dark Raisin,” the ACG sweatpants have the label’s “Lungs” logo at the left hip, while the Therma-FIT branding is displayed on the lower left leg. Equipped with a drawstring closure, the pants are constructed with a pair of pockets at the hip for your phone and extra gear. Designed with a retro cut, the pants are also incredibly roomy despite maintaining a solid fit.
