lululemon has been around since the late ‘90s, but the label has been especially dominant in the athleisure space for a decade now. After moving into the men’s market back in 2014, lululemon became more than just a yoga label and continues to expand its offerings with some of the comfiest athleisure gear you can get. Surprisingly, the company hadn’t released a men’s-only collection until just recently in February last month, which introduced us to a range of men’s clothing and sneakers. Perhaps the biggest drop from this collection, however, was the label’s debut casual shoes: the lululemon Cityverse Sneaker.

Starting with a super clean mixed material upper, the Cityverse is certainly a stripped-back silhouette, bolstered by layers of contoured, 3D molded cushioning in the midsole to give you plenty of support. They’re finished with a cupped rubber outsole for traction and feature a tailored design that’s been purpose-built to fit male feet. While these should fit true to size for most guys, lululemon recommends going up a half size if you have wider feet.

This new casual silhouette marks an exciting turning point for lululemon, especially now that we can expect some more men’s collections down the line that also champion the label’s “feel-first” philosophy. Regarding this latest collection, lululemon’s Chief Product Officer Sun Choe remarked, “With new performance running shoes and our first-ever casual sneaker added to our lineup, we can now outfit both men and women in versatile gear from head to toe. Extensive research, wear-testing and ambassador feedback went into each of these designs to ensure a perfect fit, no matter the activity.”
