If we were rounding up the most popular silhouettes of the last year or so, Sambas would undoubtedly make the cut. The shoe’s popularity has only been increasing as well, thanks to collabs with labels like Wales Bonner (that instantly sell out pretty much every time) and Clarks. Now, adidas has teamed up with the famously lowkey JJJJound for the first time on the JJJJound x adidas Samba OG.

In true JJJJound fashion, the label’s take on the Samba OG is pretty minimalist, but upon closer inspection, there are plenty of details that really elevate the look. For starters, that classic gold Samba branding now says “JJJJound” on the lateral side, and you’re getting more JJJJound branding on the heel of the footbed. This recently revealed “Off White/Core Black/Gum” colorway also switches things up with an off-white upper, and some collaborative branding on the inside of the ankle shouting out the Scheinfeld factory that’s 45 minutes from adidas global headquarters in Herzogenaurach, Germany. The silhouette is still unequivocally Samba, though, sporting a gum rubber outsole, serrated 3-Stripes, and a T-toe design.

Images of two other colorways (“Core Black/White/Gum” and “Tan/Brown/Gum”) have been bubbling up online for months now, and JJJJound officially teased the collection just two weeks ago. Besides the fact that this is JJJJound’s first collab with adidas, this collaborative silhouette is also Made in Germany, giving it a premium edge as well.

The adidas x JJJJound Sambas drop on Wednesday, March 27th (at 8:00 am PDT) through the adidas CONFIRMED app and will go for $250. As for the colorways available at launch, there’s the leather “Core Black/White/Gum” and suede “Tan/Brown/Gum,” along with the recently revealed “Off White/Core Black/Gum” we’ve featured here (do keep in mind that the off-white colorway is an adidas exclusive as well).
