Arc’teryx is such a legend in the outdoor space, that it may surprise you to learn that the label has never made its own in-house footwear before. Before this, Arc’teryx teamed up with other brands (most notably Salomon) to help make its shoes, and even collaborated with labels like BEAMS on special edition drops. Now, the techwear giant has seen fit to drop its own lineup of footwear and has revealed three mountain-ready silhouettes: the Arc’teryx Kragg, Vertex Alpine, and Sylan.

Kicking the trio off, we have the Arc’teryx Kragg, boasting a slip-on design that’s made with climbers in mind and a construction that prioritizes comfort. It’s equipped with a Vibram Megagrip outsole, Spacer Mesh uppers, and features collapsible heels for easy wearing. Next up, the Arc’teryx Vertex Alpine combines the traction of hiking/climbing shoes with the versatility (and lightweight construction) of runners, using a Cordura upper, Vibram XS Flash 2 outsoles, and TPU toe caps. Both the Sylan and Vertex Alpine will be offered with a GORE-TEX lining if you need extra protection.

Last but not least, we have the Arc’teryx Sylan, an outdoor running shoe with a dual-density midsole and a Vibram Megagrip outsole with 6mm lugs to keep you steady on the mountains. It also has a rocker-style shape (something that’s become very popular in running shoes), which helps your foot roll more naturally with each stride. It’s clear that the goal of this collection is to blend runners with climbing support, and it looks like Arc’teryx has knocked it out of the park.

The Arc’teryx Kragg, Vertex Alpine, and Sylan silhouettes will drop right before spring (on March 6th, specifically) for $160, $220, and $230, respectively. Again, the Sylan and Vertex Alpine silhouettes will also come in a GORE-TEX version, with the Sylan GTX going for $230 and the Vertex Alpine GTX going for $250.
