Performance brands do not tread lightly nowadays, as there is a new name making its way out of the woodwork with every angle you turn your head. We all know the big names — Nike, adidas, lululemon, and so on, but the lowkey players in this field are often the ones crafting the most innovative gear. For competitors looking to up the ante, Outlier has been a brand to keep in mind for some time. The New York-based company has introduced an upgraded replacement for their flagship Runweight Merino shirt with a new set of options optimized for intensive exercise, and they look intensely comfortable.

Whether you find yourself out and about or at the house, workout gear is bound to get a bit too sweaty. Luckily, Outlier’s new Sportweight Merino shirts beg to differ. Offering odor-resistance and unadulterated mobility, these are crafted from a 50/50 blend of extra-dry top-capped 16.5 micron merino wool and recycled polyester, a blend that is not only soft but maximizes moisture control through its combination of the two fibers; each of which keeps you dry in different ways. By making immaculate use of 2-ply 100s yarn, an upgrade from their Runweight’s 1-ply composition, their new Sportweight shirts and incredibly hard-wearing and are essentially built for sweat. Available in two distinct styles, the traditional-fitting Cut One and the boxy Cut Two, either option you choose is bound to become your new go-to shirt for the gym.

If you’ve found yourself on a morning jog only to head back home with an odor that you simply can’t ween off, then you should most definitely give the metropolitan brand’s latest some serious consideration. Currently available on their website for $110 each or in a 3-pack for $265, both Cut One and Cut Two of Outlier’s Sportweight Merino shirts come in a trio of colors.
