Since 2004, Norse Projects has transformed urban and technical wear into high-end fashion as successfully as anyone else. Leaning on its minimalist tendencies, the Danish clothing brand has collaborated with plenty of other firms. such as adidas, New Balance, and Suicoke. for highly-coveted designs. However, the company has recently worked from within to establish a brand-new label entirely.

This past week, Norse Projects debuted ARKTISK (Danish for “arctic”), an R&D sub-brand focusing on technological-based pieces that simultaneously utilize age-old silhouettes, but through a modern lens hoping to yield that same level of timelessness, all while providing clothing that can withstand any condition. The inaugural collection is highlighted by a range of parkas, down jackets, knitwear, and field coats. However, hats, socks, and beanies also round out the new line.

ARKTISK taps into utilitarian proprietary materials from an array of brands. Notably, the streamlined Expedition Parka, available in black or blue, utilizes GORE-TEX nylon for the main shell and ALLIED’s RENU 750-fill recycled down and HyperDRY finish. Likewise, the Rokkvi 6.0 Parka taps Pertex Shield for lightweight waterproof function while combining six different designs into a single jacket. 37.5 technology is used for the Tech Merino Crew, which helps regulate the temperature and humidity next to your skin.

While several pieces aren’t yet available, plenty of others are currently on Norse Projects ARKTISK’s web store, with prices ranging from $35 for a pair of Bjarki CORDURA socks to $1,580 for the Expedition Parka.

Purchase: $35+
